9-2 Sunday Show Recap!

by Lessa

As always, thanks to ATI from Jokers, who’s streaming the East Coast shows for us West Coast viewers! You’re awesome, and your effort is much appreciated!

Now - it’s recap time! Previously, on Big Brother 8…

We rejoin our houseguests with a flashback to Amber’s eviction - which never gets old! Dick tells us he feels good seeing her walk out the door, she was full of crap and a self-righteous bitch. Jessica wanted her to stay, but trusted Eric. Daniele find’s it amusing that she was warned about Eric, she told Amber that weeks ago, and she’s amused that no one knows what’s going on. Jameka is going to try her best and make Amber proud of her.

Day 62 that was, and Zach is happy that he’s still here. Eric is satisfied because America wanted it, and so did he.

Time to watch the remainder of the HOH competition! We re-hear Julie telling us of the rules, and watch them slipping and sliding all over again. And we see Eric taking his falls and he tells us it was brutal. everyone is slipping and sliding. Dick says he barely stand up, he’s 14 years older then the next oldest one, and he smokes and doesn’t work out. Zach even tried to clean up the lane - with his chest. Eric really was having a horrible time of it!

Dick was feeling confident, because it was 3-1. Zach knew he had to do whatever it took to secure his survival. Jessica says Eric wasn’t doing well staying on his feet - and he wasn’t. SO take that you guys who said he was faking it! Blarg. Jameka is worried, as well she should be. Jameka goes in and grabs Daniele a hair tie, and moans about Amber while she’s in there.

There’s a smaller container in the lain - the first to fill the container by the end of the game, gets a phone call from home. Daniele put one in there, but then stopped. Eric was immediately torn, he wasn’t doing well at all, and so he decided to go for it and he got the phone call from home!

There are now two cups at the end of the lanes - they come at a price though, the entire house will go on cold water for 1 day for each cup used. Everyone takes two, and there’s cold water for 8 days.

(This is absolutely brutal to watch!)

Dick is still in good spirits - feet don’t fail me now! He says he was a waiter for a long time, but Zach was moving fast. Zach says using two cups was a calculated risk, because he is Zach, and could make up the difference. Dick knew he had to do anything he could to win because an hour before the show he laid into Zach. He lets us know he was pissed off about the way Zach turned on him. Zach shakes his head, (And we know he’s lying!) And CUE THE ROCKER MUSIC!!

Zach says he’s played the game honorably, and here’s Dick’s I tell the truth speech. Dick knew that Daniele and Eric weren’t close and may as well had sat down. Zach was only concentrating on winning, and Dick knew it was all on him - Zach can’t win this HOH! It’s very close.

We come back from commercial, and Zach is clearly in the lead. Zach said everything hurt, but he wouldn’t stop because winning guarantees him a 1 in 5 shot. He spends some time trying to get the ball. Dick knew you couldn’t fish the ball out, and kept working while Zach dug. It got closer still! Zach and Dick both start digging - then go back for more…. Zach’s ball pops up where he can see it - he pours the rest of his in, and gets the ball and ZACH WINS HOH!

Eric is completely ashamed and embarrassed, and every dog has his day. Zach does a belly slide, and celebrates Zero to Hero! Everyone congratulates him, and Dick knows that Amber wouldn’t have had a shot, and Eric is devastated because it may come down on Jessica and it’ll come down on her. Eric won the phone call from home, and he says he didn’t take it for himself. He was torn between giving it to Jameka or Jessica - but gave it to Jessica knowing she’s worried about her brother. Jameka says he’s going to cry - and Eric says he is going to as well.

He knows he spent the previous week telling Jessica they were doing the right thing. He told her it wasn’t going to happen, that he wouldn’t let it happen. She tells him its ok, and thanks for the phone call. Everyone is feeling low - except Zach of course.

Daniele tells Dick she has a lot of pull with Zach, and not to worry about it. “It is what it is.” In the other room Eric and Jessica are talking, he’s apologizing, but he tells Jessica to encourage Zach to put up Eric and Jameka. He promises still to do all in his power to keep her here, even if it means an alliance with Zach to the final three.

Zach gets his HOH - and Eric tells us he’s never seen 5 people so despondent to see the room in all 8 seasons. Zach is excited and it feels good to be on stop. He’s talking and giggling, and everyone is just there. They disperse quickly, and head downstairs, leaving Daniele up there alone with Zach.

Daniele and Zach talk game a bit, and about Dick and how everyone is nervous, including him. They bond a little bit about it, and Daniele says not to tell anyone what she tells him and she’s done with her dad, period. Zach feels he just doesn’t carry himself properly and it sucks and he doesn’t appreciate it. Daniele tells him to be very careful what he does this week. He knows he’ll have to do the right thing for himself, but he doesn’t know yet who he’s putting up. He tells us Dick wants to be in charge, can you really trust a guy named Dick? (hahah!)

Jessica has learned that she doesn’t want a big family, that when you think Zach can’t hear you he can, that a 44 year old man can act younger then her. And then we see Eric confessing to the hinky votes, and the mustard. He tells us that he is desperate to clear the air with her and tell her that he is America’s Player, but that he won’t because he can’t. Jessica takes it better, with much laughter and giggling. Jessica says there’s a lot more to his gameplay then she realized, but trusts him even if it makes her wonder what else he’s up too now.

Jessica gets her phone call from home - she hopes it’s from her brother, Dean, who’s getting back from Iraq, and she picks up the phone and it IS, of course! Oh he’s CUTE! Good thing she brought that box of tissues in. He tells her about the Booyah shorts that are being sold for charity. AWWW! Such a love fest, and tears flow. She’s glad to know he’s ok, and back and she wasn’t there to see them come home. Hugs all around… awwww..

We come back and it’s time for America’s Player task! Who should Eric get nominated, no surprise it’s Jameka. He’s really happy, because he thinks that Zach will be receptive and it’s an easy sell. He gets right to work, and Zach is honest that he’s not sure what he’s going to do. Eric sells it with all the things we already know - and the same argument works both ways, she’s done nothing in the game so far (Until this - neither has Zach!). But they know they probably can’t beat her. Eric says he gave it the college try, and sold it from every angle with the main message being Jameka needs to go up.

Daniele knows that if Zach nominated Eric and Jessica it would do her dirty work for her. She takes it to Dick, and if they have no choice but to vote out either Jessica or Eric, they would keep their hands clean of the whole mess. Daniele takes it right to Zach - who’s using his jeans as floaters. Erm. Ok. Dick joins, and agrees, and says if they’re going to stick together, they have to stick together from now on. Zach tells us that the end game has to put him in the best possible situation, and it’s tough.

Time to Vote on America’s Task - he needs to show the houseguests how annoying they can be. Who should Eric Mimic? Vote here! Though I know Eric has the talent to swing this as a joke, I’m not sure who to choose! Jessica’s already been volatile with him the past couple days, and this will likely happen before POV Meeting tomorrow… this could put him in a precarious position! Gah!

Time for nominations! Daniele feels Zach is a very scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, and she feels confident she’s safe. Eric tells us that Zach thinks he’s masterminded the game from day one, but he has had one moment in the sun and he hopes its not Eric or Jessica. Jessica is positive she’ll be put up. Zach says it’s been a toss up - to go with what he thinks is the right move for him, or what others think is right for him and will he live to fight another day? Jameka doesn’t think she’s Zach’s target, but anything can go. Zach wants to take out personal biggest threats.

Zach says it’s a really hard choice with only five people to choose from and his decisions came at the last second and it’s based on the relationships built for the past two months. Dick is safe, Daniele is safe, and Eric is safe. (and he DID TOO SAY THANKS ZACH! no matter what Zach says after!)

Zach tells Jameka it’s not personal, its just been difficult to get to know her and he’s threatened by that in the end game. He says he doesn’t hold Jessica’s putting him up against her, but everyone likes her and that worries him in the end game, and the meeting is adjourned.

Jessica says it’s a cop out, because he didn’t want to nominate Dick or Daniele. Jameka says he’s unbelievable and she’s fighting for Veto. Zach feels no remorse, it puts him in a better position in the end. Daniele is content with what happened, and her friendship with Zach has paid off. Eric feels like Jessica’s being nominated is his fault, that she feels like it is his fault, and is devastated.

Janelle returns to the house for the Veto Competition Tuesday. Oh goody. Tune in then to see who will win the Power of Veto, and if the nominations are changed, as well as if Eric fulfills his Task!
