BOOYAH! An interview with Jessica!
As I promised, here’s that something special from the Kansas Cutie herself, Jessica! She’s ever bit the delight we came to know and love all season long, and I’m so glad she chose to interview with us! Enjoy!
BBC: How long have you been a Big Brother Fan, and what made you apply?
Jessica: I have been watching Big Brother since season four, and have been a fan ever since. I applied as soon as I turned 21 this year, because I love competitions, and thought it would be a fun way to spend my summer, plus giving me a shot at winning a big cash prize at the same time.
BBC: Would you do it again? How about Allstars - with/against Eric?
Jessica: I really enjoyed my time in the BIG BROTHER house and would love the opportunity to compete again. I think I would be better prepared next time, and would be willing to play with or without Eric in the game.
BBC: Were you surprised to see Carol? How did she come to be on the show?
Jessica: I was shocked to see Carol, but expect the unexpected right? I applied for the show and listed her as a rival (because I didn’t really have any enemies to list) so I am sure that is why she was contacted. Carol told me she was contacted sometime between semi-finals and finals and was asked to be on the show.
BBC: How much of the show have you been able to catch up on since leaving sequester?
Jessica: I have begun watching the season but am only up to week three. I cannot wait to finish watching the entire season though.
BBC: Many houseguests of all seasons think they aren’t shown as they really are on the network shows - how do you feel CBS portrayed you?
Jessica: I feel the editing that was done for the television only showed a very small part of who I am and they left out the fun stuff. I have had so many people tell me they didn’t really get to know me from the television edit, but they loved me on the live feeds and BBAD. If only some of my more fun times had been shown on television too, perhaps America would not have voted for me to be nominated the week after Carol was evicted.
BBC: Do you think CBS portrayed the other houseguests fairly?
Jessica: I have not seen the entire season yet, but from what I have watched so far, I am a little disappointed in the typecasting that was done. For example, there was so much more to Amber than just crying, and it is say they didn’t show her fun side more too.
BBC: Could you describe each houseguest for us as one who knows them better then we could?
Jessica:
Carol – my rival, intelligent, pretty, athletic
Joe – I absolutely loved him! Joe was a great story teller, fun, animated
Mike – quiet
Nick - nice
Kail - mature
Dustin – well spoken, handsome, sharp
Jen – gorgeous, strong willed
Amber – wears her emotions on her sleeve, looks for the good in people
Eric – persuasive, smart, funny, entertaining
Jameka – out going, hilarious, out spoken. I had so much fun with jameka.
Zach – analytical, makes the best of any situation
Daniele – competitive
Dick- loud, looks out for those he cares about

BBC: We all watched as Eric tried to balance his America’s Player tasks with his game, and his obvious growing relationship with you - now that you have had a few days to digest the AP twist, what do you think of it?
Jessica: I feel the AP twist was unfair to all 14 houseguests. If the game had been 14 strangers, each making their own decisions, I think the outcome would have been much different. I wish it would have been 14 strangers in the game, with everyone getting to play for themselves.
BBC: How do you think it affected your game in particular and the game as a whole?
Jessica: Since Eric was my closest ally, the AP twist affected my game a great deal. I talked over my strategy with Eric all the time, thinking I could trust him because we had the same goals. Because of his role as AP, he was forced to lead me in directions that were not actually in his or my own best interests.
I can say that this experience has taught me to always listen more to my own instincts than to other’s opinions.
BBC: What did Eric have to say about it all, especially the tasks that involved you? (The silent treatment broke our hearts!)
Jessica: Eric explained everything to me after the finale. He answered every question I had! We stayed up all night (like usual) and he explained to me every task he was asked to do so that I could hear it from him first and not other people.
Eric told me how hard it was hard for him to do the tasks that involved me, because he never wanted to hurt me or my chances in the game, and that he wanted to tell me all along but could not, so it was a very difficult position he was in. Eric was extremely nervous at the finale because he did not know how I would react to learning about the twist, and the way it affected me.
Eric reassured me that all the personal things we talked about and shared were not related to the game and were real. And I believe him.

BBC: Is there anything that you would do differently, now that you’ve a chance to look back?
Jessica: I am trying not to think about the “what ifs” so I won’t go crazy. This game is like the domino effect – had any one thing changed, the entire outcome of the game could have been different and there is not enough time in the world to think about all those different scenarios.
BBC: Your last week in the house, you did not to speak to Zach, or solidify your position with Dick and Daniele - was that a conscious decision?
Jessica: I hoped and believed that my alliance had my back, and because both Dick & Daniele repeatedly told me & Eric this, I did not want to hound them. I did not want to campaign against Jameka, so that if I made it to the final 2, I would hopefully have her jury vote.
With there being 3 voters this week, Zach would not cast a vote, so I saw no reason to try to talk to him after he had nominated me. My fate was entirely in Dick & Daniele’s hands, and if I couldn’t trust them I would be going home. I hoped they would be loyal to me, because I had saved each of them before.
BBC: Many of us were disheartened and upset when Amber and Jameka pulled their double team on you in the HOH room (2nd HOH) to trash Eric, even going so far as to pull your parents into it. The hardest part of watching was not being able to tell for sure if you were buying their logic as they tried so hard to make you not trust Eric. The big question would be - did you buy it? What are you feelings about Amber and Jameka now?
Jessica: I thought Amber and Jameka were just being good friends to me, and looking out for my best interests. I listened to everything they had to say and I wanted to believe they would not intentionally try to hurt me or my game. I was very confused about what to believe when they were done talking to me. But, after just one conversation with Eric, I knew he was still the closest ally I had in the house, and I chose to put my faith in him. I am grateful that Eric stuck with me even though I doubted him at times.
BBC: Many of the after party/wrap party write-ups I’ve seen say that Carol has a big time grudge with Eric, and took it out on his brothers - any thoughts on that?
Jessica: Sure, Eric poked fun at Carol, and all the other evicted houseguests – like we all did. Perhaps it had something to do with Eric liking me, but I honestly can’t speak for Carol, so I am not sure why she held a grudge against only Eric and then took it out on his family.
BBC: Speaking of Eric - how are things with you two, and perhaps most importantly, who has custody of Woobie/Woofie, Mr. Wrinkles and the Baby Rat? (grin)
Jessica: It’s so crazy to not be able to see Eric 24 hours a day anymore. But we are both doing great! We talk to each other every day, and Eric is planning a trip to Kansas pretty soon. I am so excited! And it looks like I may be in NY for Thanksgiving this year too.
Woobie/Woofie is currently staying in New York but I am thinking about asking for joint custody because even though he is a fake I love and miss him! Mr. Wrinkles is also living in New York. Baby Teacup (the rat) is residing in Kansas with me.
I can’t thank you enough, Jessica, you made my day - and made me INCREDIBLY popular with my kids. Have a great time in Seattle, and LA!

Congratulations, Lessa, for snagging a prized interview with Jessica! You did a fantastic job and got all the answers to all the things I wanted to know—in particular, about what she was thinking that last week in the house and who has custody of the “kids.” So funny! I still have the feeds until the end of the month, so I’ll be watching the interview of Eric and Jessica. I also saw your post on the Eric fan site and finallly got it together to post myself. I’m still reading the Senor X thread on Sucks, so I guess I’m not quite ready to say And That’s That. Thanks for doing a wonderful job.

I do not see the fascination with this chick. Honestly, I don’t.
She didn’t play a good game. Spent the summer sleeping and drinking too much. She was easily led around by anyone who talked to her. When Jameka and Amber started all the BS about Eric she should have thrown them out of the HOH bedroom. Instead we get eye rolls and mmmmms. She should have had enough game to know those two were lying out their ass to save themselves and yet she couldn’t see it.
She had no game, barely played and thought she could coast along on the coattails of anyone available because she was cute, blonde and ditzy. I would appreciate anyone giving me one instance where Jessica offered anything to a conversation that didn’t involved the game, looks, drinking or Eric.
She is about as deep as a mud puddle, less well read than my three year old and is a perfect candidate to stay in Kansas her whole friggin life. Please.
I don’t care for Eyebrow Eric but run Eric, run!
