Big Brother 8

Mike Dutz is working the interview circuit!

Friday, July 27th, 2007

mike.jpgOne thing I noticed last night was that Julie cut her interview short with Mike during the show. I figured they were running late and had to rush through some things - but she didn’t tell him about the America’s Player twist! Around the Internets, folks pointed that out as well and suggested maybe he might be going back in because of it - not so! In the interviews on CBS this morning, Julie Chen spoke to Mike and they spoke about the twist. Part of that interview is available here. (Flash - thanks for the link TVBloggin!)

Other interviews, the first of many, can be found at:

Entertainment Weekly - where he is asked about his and Kail’s speeches and game play.

How much time did you spend on your speech? It was well done.
I came up with it an hour before the actual ceremony. I didn’t want to trip over any words, and I wanted to have a direction to go in on the live show. I think it went fairly well and came out the way I wanted it to.

What did you think of Kail’s ”Let me stay so we can build the bonds we’ve started to grow” speech? It sounded a little…weird to someone watching the show.
It certainly came off weird, and I don’t think anyone really bought it. I think the only reason she stayed around is because they can sort of use her to their advantage now for the next week or two, and they got out a stronger player.

So you do think you had more game than her?
She kinda dealt her cards too fast and was rash in her decision, and kinda put us in the position that we got in — being the reason I’m sitting here now talking to you on the phone. My gameplay wasn’t exactly working out to my advantage, but I think it was working out a little more than Kail’s.

The Slug - where we find out about possible modeling jobs in the future:

The Slug: You’re a model. Now that you have some “Big Brother” fame, would pose nude for the right amount of money?
Mike Dutz: No. Definitely not anything that would expose full nudity. No, I wouldn’t do that.
The Slug: Just semi-nudity?
Mike Dutz: Yeah, I would want to leave some mystery to myself.

(which is kinda funny with the famed Best Speeches You Tube Video making the rounds…)

And, of course, Buddy TV where we get more on Eric, America’s player.

OK, and who do you think is going to win the whole thing? Who do you think can last it out? Right now, I’ve got my bet on Eric.

On America’s Player? On America’s Player.

How did you react when you found out about that twist? I was certainly surprised, I had no idea that there was another twist involved in the house, and a great twist, a funny twist at that, and I do plan on participating in that as I watch along now with the rest of the season.

I’m sure there will be many more - but these will get you started!

Is getting to see moments like this:

Daniele and Dick sharing laughter

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hoping for Dick and Daniele to have some good moments to combat all the bad, especially after last week’s fight - and last night they were enjoying their conversation - they talked family, a little bit of strategy, a little bit about their lives apart, and together, and ended with laughter - WITH each other, not AT each other, too.

It was awesome!

Live Eviction, Live Bloggin’ - Week Three!

-:03 ALMOST TIME! Yes, I know ya’ll already seen it. INDULGE me and my poor Alaskan Time Zone friends!

:00 Previously on Big Brother 8 - it’s recap time! Who will be evicted from the Big Brother House? Find out tonight, Live!

:05 Well hello, Julie! Don’t you look pretty! And thanks for the recap of the recap we just got! We’re all aware what’s going on. But first! This week’s veto competition set off a chain reaction, that caused Dick to rethink his nominations. But did we American’s have the final say on who stays and who goes?

:05 We get another view of the Veto Meeting, and Kail says it’s a horrible feeling to sit next to Mike and that ED is confident she’s the one heading home, and she’s packing her bag. Mike says he hates to campaign against Kail but doesn’t think she’s emotionally strong enough. Zach says Mike has nothing to worry about - he’ll vote out Kail 150%.

Cut to Dick and Nick in the HOH and the suggestion that they should vote out Mike because Kail is such a disaster. Dick talks to Jameka and Dustin, and says he thinks Kail is such a mess and Mike is the bigger threat. Jameka sees benefits, but feels that she would be a target for Mike because they don’t connect. Both Dustin and Jameka agree that Mike has to go.

:08 Cut to Kail and Jen on the hammock, and Jen says no one is talking about who is leaving. Mike doesn’t talk to anyone, but isn’t strong either.

Mike talks to Jen and she says that she doesn’t trust Jen because she slept in the HOH for 19 days and she never told her about the alliance.

:10 Mike hopes people see that he’s true and trustworthy and vote that way.

Cut to Nick, Jameka and Jessica - Nick says that Kail’s a basket case and they need to take the chance to vote out Mike.

:11 Time for Eric to see who WE want out. Who should he get evicted? Kail. He takes it in stride, says that it would be a 9-0 vote right now, but if we want Kail out, he’ll send her packing. Eric goes to Dustin and sets his plan in motion and says that Kail was the original target, and there should be discussion.

:12 Cut to the HOH room where said discussion ensues, and Eric clarifies that he’s more then happy for either to go, but wants to hear all of them - while Dick farts in the bathroom and Jameka makes faces.

:13 Everyone agrees that Eric makes a good point, and hopefully gets through to everyone, and Kail may be able pull them all together. Eric tells us he’s trying, but he will only find out if he’s successful if Kail walks out the door.

:14 Coming up, Nick gave Daniele the key to his heart, but the key to hers belongs to someone else - who is the man he left behind? But first, let’s go to the diary room…

:15 Zach says Kail has played and folded her hand and is packed so open the door. Dustin says Mike eats a lot, is a giant but has the personality of a dead fish. Jessica says Mike is strong, but never talks, ever. Amber says no one knows what he’s thinking. Jess says Kail is strong and manipulative. Dustin says Mike is a strong but silent type and he’s got to GO.

:16 Commercial!

:19 Welcome back, we are Live! Time to talk to the houseguests. Julie says one is incredibly bold this week - and shows the footage of Zach streaking while everyone laughs. Julie “Zach, what possessed you to do this in front of the entire country and live on showtime too” He says he didn’t think his family was watching, there was highs and lows and he needed his high back.

Jameka is asked what she thinks of her housemates that make themselves the center of attention. She says she knows when to hold em, when to fold em.

Jen is asked about the Mustard Investigation. Jen says she’s decided to stop the investigation, and that she has no suspects.

Julie asks Eric about the wrestling match with Jen and how does it feel to know he was pinned by a girl. Eric laughs and says Jen’s buffed up, and that he’s ready for a rematch, which Julie wants to watch. Well then!

:21 Julie asks what the man in Daniele’s life thinks of the one trying to steal Daniele’s heart. We get a montage of their googlie eyes, and then Dick saying Kris must be losing his mind.

:22 AW! Kris is CUTE! He says that sparks flew when they met, he says their relationship is serious and he wants to marry her and he believes that she is his soulmate. He says Nick is a typical guy, but wants to believe it’s strategy. Daniele told him before she went in the house straight up, “I love you, you have to trust me. And that’s what I’m basing everything on.” He says she’s confused in her life right now, but doesn’t think Daniele will screw up the relationship, that there are some things that hurt but he’s not worried, it’s all about trust.

And we get an under the cover (Incriminating!) shot… ouch.

:24 Time to check in with Dick in the HOH household. Julie asks about his and Dani’s relationship. He says it’s headed in the relationship, they are talking and he got his first hug in two years and things are going well.

:25 Julie asks about Nick and his feelings - if he had to decide right now if he could be trusted, what would he say? Dick says if he could, he’d vote him out right now. He also says that his calling out other houseguests is real and gameplay - especially with Kail. There’s no he said/she said. He got so deep in Kails head he needed a miner’s light to get back!

Coming up! House guests have described her as a “vain robotic bitch who’s favorite word is I” - is there more?

:26 Jen says Kail is a liability that she can’t say anything. Jameka says that if Mike commits, he’ll be by your side to the end, Daniele says Kail has sloppy game play. Nick said he might be a target for Kail, Jameka says Kail could be an ally and Daniele finishes the segment by saying Mike is a lot smarter then they think and to vote him out while they have the chance

:28 Commercial!

:31 Welcome back - outside the house Jen is a nanny, inside, she raises hell. We might be surprised to discover the real Jen!

Anita, Jen’s mom says that she was not like this when she was young, she has a double major of child development and architecture. Kara, her friend says that Jen was upset about the picture because it’s her livelihood and she’s used to going over pictures with a fine tooth comb. Her mother says she was hurt when Jen took down her picture, and her friend told her before she went to play dumb, it’s the way to play the game. Her mom says she’s a great girl and hopes she’s around long enough for us to see that.

:33 We’re moments away from the live eviction Lets go to the living room! Time to plead your case. Mike stands up and says that sometimes you have to step outside comfort zones and risk security for beliefs, and he made actions in an inconvenient situation, and sacrificed his security. He hopes people trust his values, and he’ll walk out with Dignity and hope he inspired. Julie has to cut him off.

Kail says she wants to say he appreciates all their friendships and it means a lot, that they’ll all have a bond, and she’s blessed and looks forward to strengthening friendships.

:35 Time to vote!

Zach - Evict Kail
Jameka - Evict Mike
Jen - Evict Mike (She has to think about it though, and answers begrudgingly)
Dustin - Evict Mike

:36 The vote is 3-1, the rest of the houseguests vote live when we return!

:41 and we’re back - let’s continue the vote.

Hi Eric, we know you vote for Kail, but while you’re in here, who does he want America to choose to start a showmance with? He says he’s a Casanova, everyone’s fair game!

Amber - Evict Mike
Nick - Evict Mike

It’s offical, 5-1 but let’s see how the rest of the houseguests vote.

Daniele - Evict Michael
Jessica - Evict Mike

The votes are all in and by a vote of 7-2, Mike you are evicted from the Big Brother House. Mike gives flowers from the topairys to the girls, and says good luck, and the girls give him a quick hug and he’s off to meet Julie.

Dick accuses Jen for voting for Kail, who denies it of course, while Kail cries and gets hugs. Eric looks shell shocked.

: 44 Julie says that the internet have called the POV move the dumbest move ever, and asked what happened. Mike says people don’t know the whole story, he wanted to play with integrity and honesty. We have Housemates messages: Zach says that he stayed true to keep him, Kail says they both had been played and he’s the one paying for it and she’s sorry. Dustin says he’s sorry, he only knows 4 things bout him after 3 weeks, Amber says he’ll be a perfect husband some day and he’s a great guy. Jen says it took a lot of guts to fight with Dick, and showed how honest and trustworthy he was, Dick says it was a stupid play to put himself out like that, and Julie will speak with Mike on the Early Show tomorrow morning.

:47 Coming up, the HOH competition!

:50 And we’re back! The Power is Up for grabs!

:51 The HOH competition called ‘Eliminator’. Julie will be asking a series of questions about eliminated House Guests. Answers will be Carol, Joe, Mike, or none of the above. Buzz in to answer. If you’re correct, you choose to eliminate somebody else. If you’re wrong you’re eliminated.

At the eviction ceremony, who said “The time is now to stand…” Eric is right, eliminates Jen.
Which ex was the only one to play Hide and Seek - Dustin right, eliminates Zach.
When sprayed with sludge in mushroom madness, who said tastes like chicken, Nick eliminates Kail.
Who acted like a baby, (Mike) Jameka eliminates Nick.
Who did not compete in Butter Me Up, (none) Dustin eliminates Jessica.
If they were all standing who’s nose would be closest to stratosphere, (Joe) Eric eliminates Amber.
Which ex said “if my enemy is who…” Eric eliminates Daniele.
Who made it…. Eric buzzes himself out by not letting Julie finish! (on purpose?)
Who spun the longest on the mushroom…. Dustin eliminates Jameka and Dustin is our new HOH!

:54 What’s in store for the house now that Dustin’s in charge? Stay with us!

:57 Welcome back - it’s time for us to get involved! Who do we want Eric to nominate? VOTE NOW!

:58 - Let’s rejoin the houseguests, what do you think Joe is thinking? “He’s probably spitting but it feels great to be HOH!” Julie asks if he has come out of his shell without Joe, and he says absolutely!

Julie asks Dick what advice he has for Dustin - keep a low profile and enjoy it.
Kail says she knows she caught a break and is very surprised, and blessed and says thank you.

:59 Who will Dustin Nominate? Tune in Sunday - and, who will win the POV? See on Tuesday, and don’t forget next weeks live eviction AND don’t forget about Showtimes BB After Dark!

:00 From outside the house, I’m Julie Chen, goodnight!

Well then - this could be interesting. Will Dustin show his true feelings (about Dick - or Amber. Who’s he playing?!) or be smart and continue to keep peace among the largest faction of the house and nominate who they want him too? If he’s smart, he’ll nominate Zach and Kail, and possibly backdoor Nick. What do you think?

Lazy days and Mo…Wednesdays…

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

It’s a lazy day around the BBHouse today, with our hamsters having fun with the HOH Camera and some last minute (and thankfully) quiet campaigning for votes going on by Mike and Kail.

Well, most people are having fun with the HOH Camera - Dick doesn’t want to take ‘normal’ photos and keeps trying to set up shots - they’re gonna be AWESOME! The other Houseguests were all for it, for a while, but now that his hour is running down, they’re getting pissy. Everyone (’cept Dani - who always is vocal about complaining to her dad) says ok, does what he asks, but then runs back to whoever listens with the whine “HE was making me do this…” (HELLO AMBER! SOMEONE please get her evicted!)

Is it just me, or are these the WEAKEST minded females EVER? Does it ever occur to them that they don’t HAVE to say or do anything they don’t want to? (Unless contractually bound by CBS, of course. Ha!) SPINES. These women need SPINES. MY daughter’s have no problem saying no. (Usually loudly and followed by “I don’t WANT to clean my room!”)

ANYWAY.

How about a little fun? Over at Silly Hamsters, HD has a little poll that’s quite amusing - go over and take a gander! It’s fun to read all the answers and see how we all think alike.

But before you do - why not give us here you’re favorite Houseguest and why - I shared my current thoughts on all the hamsters in my usual verbose fashion, so tell me - who are you pulling for to win? Who do you think will end up meeting Chenbot tomorrow? Who do you think will pull out HOH? Do tell!

26 hours to go!

And yes, though I’ll be a couple hours slower then everyone due to my own special lil time zone, I will live blog tomorrow’s show. How about a game of quarters to wile away the time?

It’s all about the POV and mind games, baby!

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

We rejoin the houseguests right after the nominations, of course, and Dick is pretty happy with himself. He does give Kail a hug, and tells Jen that she isn’t his target, Kail is. Kail thinks she might be able to change things though Dick thinks he has things wrapped up.

OMG They’re gonna show the streaking! This was the TALK of the internet - and not always in a good way! They challenge Zach to streak, and Zach doesn’t back down - oh the blurring is welcome as Zach hauls his nekid butt to jump in the pool. Everyone else steals his clothing and towels, and close the sliding door - everyone is cracking up, and a good time is had by all!

All but Kail who’s in bed, moping. Jen comes in and they start thinking of who they want to play for them in the POV - of course, it’s a random thing, so there’s really no way they can ‘pick’. Mike says he’d take one of the girls off if he won. Mike says he’s loyal, and that’s why he’d do it.

Dick comes in to check on Kail, and rehash once again that he doesn’t think Kail is a good player, but her life is in her own hands. She says she has nobody in the house at all. She says she doesn’t know where she stands with Mike, and she’s friends only with Jen. She worries that the house will go by what the HOH says, and Kail basically asks him to save her. And he says once again that she lied to him and can’t be trusted, that she has no chance of staying unless she wins Veto.

Time for Eric to find out his next task, and he has to target Jen with his vandalism! He says he’s tickled pink and glad to know America hates Jen as much as he does!

My Hamster Watchin’ Opinions: Eric, Jameka, Jen, Kail, Mike, Zach

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

bb8eric.jpgAmerica’s Player, Eric!
Seriously, could they have picked anyone better? The kid is a total goofball, and cracks me up every single day. His laugh is infectious, and he’s genuinely liked by everyone. Everyone thinks there’s something a little odd about him, and we all know that’s because he’s waiting on us to tell him what to do. Despite that oddness and his refusal to commit to any alliance fully, everyone adores him - me included!

One thing you don’t see a lot of on CBS just yet is how smart this kid really is. He’s given a lot of good advice, and he has a caring heart and strong shoulders used to listen to everyone. Sure, that also gets him farther along in the game, but I think it’s his personality more then gameplay. He’s a guy who’d be fantastically fun to hang out - and him and Jessica together? Comedy GOLD. They are currently - as in RIGHT THIS MINUTE - taking a bubble bath together in the HOH room. I don’t think I’ve seen so much CUTE in one bathtub since my kids were little! - See?

07_24_07_EricJessica2.jpg
And Jessica keeps telling him to “Stay on YOUR side of the tub!” as he tells her the same.

My Hamster Watchin’ Opinions: Dick, Daniele, Nick

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

I mentioned below that I might get into this here, and so I will dedicate a whole entry to Dick, Dani and Nick - and another one in a bit to catch the rest (and shorter!) opinions of the other houseguests.

This morning, all the internets are buzzing about the talk Dick and Daniele had last night. It was long, and heart-wrenching to watch - and many of us watching were sitting there alternately saying that CBS shouldn’t be exploiting this, while knowing they are because people like us were sitting there watching it. It was impossibly hard to look away - so I didn’t. I just grabbed the tissues and watched the two of them cry and try to find some common ground. It was rough going - but by the end, Dick and Daniele shared their first hug in over two years.

Cry me a cup full of tears… Nominations and Food Comp!

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

HouseGuests_w2HOH.jpg

Grab your tissues folks, there is a whole lotta cryin’ going on in this Recap for Sunday’s show!

We rejoin the house moments after nominations where Dustin was fake crying in the DR about Joe’s eviction, admitting that it feels good and Joe made his bed and now he lay in it. Kail knows she was the only vote for him, and Mike says that he knew which way the house was going, and attempted to scoot under the radar. Jen feels she accomplished her mission because she didn’t care which one got out, it would ease the negativity - still trying to sell that, Jen? Give it up!

Zach says the alliance is failing and probably done. Oh how right you are, Zach! Little did you know then…

Catch-up time! Last Thursday’s Recap.

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

I know this place has been shy on updates, so I’m going to do my best to get everyone caught up before tonight’s episode once again - hang on for the ride, we’ve got two episodes and a buttload of possible spoilers to post on. Don’t worry - I’ll warn you first! Posts a-plenty a-coming!

I didn’t live blog last Thursday’s episode, so this recap will not be as detailed as the last one, nor as long. Hey now, I heard that sigh of relief!

The night before evictions, the LNC (Late Night Crew) were up and joking around, and spent time carving a “ChenBat” out of a honeydew. It was placed in perfect position on the coffee table between the couches, but the producers made them move it before the show began. Spoil sports! Julie Chen looked smashing in her little black dress, though I do wish she’d tone that hair down JUST a little bit. Oh well, she’s not the one we’re obsessing over anyway. That would be the two nominees - Joe and Evel Dick (Yes mom - he spells it Evel.)

After a brief recap, and footage of Daniele removing herself from the block thanks to winning the POV, and Jen Nominating Joe. DR Sessions have the following comments - Jen says that Joe is unpredictable and a liar, Dustin claims a wave of ecstasy flushed him from head to toe, and Dani says she doesn’t want to see her dad go while ED declares he has formed better relationships then Joe and will stay no matter what.

The Strong Man Contest

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

On Sunday the guys finally did their Strongest Man Competition, and it was a hoot! From stuffing their underwear with assorted fruits and vegetables to some colourful commentary from Dick, the whole thing was absolutely hilarious. I think Big Brother should make the Drunken Villager an official HoH comp.

Our contestants are Cragnus (Nick), Zagnus (Zach), Magnus (Mike), and Diagnus (Dustin).

Here are some video clips of the event. These contain some profanity, of course, so consider yourself warned. First, Round One: Drunken Villager.

Round Two: The Boulder Roll

Round Three: Hot Foot

Food Comp, self-absorption, and Nominations, oh my!

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Can’t be anything other then another episode of Big Brother 8! Are ya ready? Here we go!

We have another brief recap, reminding us where we are, and what happened on Thursday - Carol’s eviction, Jen driving everyone nuts, and then winning HoH - what will happen tonight?

Jessica is happy to have Carol gone, and Kail is content that her alliance did just want she wanted to do. Amber is crying in the Diary Room again, saying that God put her there for a reason, and Dustin is of course overjoyed. Dick knows that it’s beneficial for him as well, that Daniele is number one, and Amber is number two, for his picks to go to the end with. Jameka says that watching Carol leave made it more real.

Jen admits that it was her that was the single vote to keep Carol in the house. Then we get the reactions to Jen getting head of household - Joe: SERIOUSLY? Dick “****!” and Kail “I’m so HAPPY!” Joe goes off and bitches about the technicality of final question about the teacup. Dustin points out people are going to start kissing her butt. Dick says he won’t stress, though, because - and here we have it officially brought into the BB8 House “It is what it is.”

Oy. And we thought it was annoying on Project Runway!

Jen does admit that she didn’t even think about her teacup answer, but is pleased that she’s the only one safe. And Everyone else is worried, and they haven’t a clue what she’s going to do. Jen says she wasn’t planning on nominating Dick, despite all of their arguments. Dick says that’d be stupid, of course, because everyone knows he’s gunning for him. Daniele, Dustin and Amber are all nervous as well. “It’s going to be brutal.”

They make a drinking game, Zack, Dustin and Mike. Everytime she says “I” they have to drink. It’s a good thing it’s not alcohol else Zack would be VERY drunk. They do it directly in front of her face, and Dustin says “She has NO IDEA” - she talks about herself all the time. They finally have to stop, because their stomachs hurt!

It’s time to see Jen’s HoH room! How exciting! Dick refuses to join the festivities, which is no real surprise. Also not a surprise?

Jen hates her pictures! She even goes so far as to take on off of the wall. HOW freakin’ conceited and self-absorbed can one be? It’s astounding, seriously. She spends quite a bit of time complaining about them, too. A whole week with her in charge - man.

We come back to watch Nick and Mike lift weights together. Rawr. Dustin and Zach, of course, decide to make fun of them. And Kragnus and Magnus are born - with Arnold type accents, as they give commentary about the boys lifting - while everyone laughs. “Magnus has a W and W on each butt cheek” “What’s that stand for?” “WoW!”

The boys are good-natured about it, but can’t lift anymore because they’re laughing too hard.

Dani and Nick are talking and flirting, and Nick is sleeping on the floor by her bed. He says they’re flirting, but he doesn’t know where they’re at. Daniele agrees he’s the one she connects with the most. Nick says he gave her the key to his heart - it’s really the key to his suitcase, but It’s doing double duty. He also says it’s real, and he wants to get to know her more. Dani usually replies with “shut up.” or “your stupid.” But she smiles when she says it.

Live Eviction Night, Live blog!

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Of course, half the world has already seen tonight’s episode, but I live in Alaska and am a couple hours behind as a result. No matter - I’m gonna ‘live blog’ it anyway! You know you’re excited. You can admit it!

7:02 Recap time - they go through all of the previous weeks happenings, except of course for what we’ve all seen on the live feeds and Showtime BB After Dark.

04: Hi Julie! She looks fantastic and so very thin in her black pantsuit. She tells us that Joe and Dustin are trying to be civil, Dick is trying to talk to Dani but she’s not ready, and while Jessica is nice to Carol to her face, she can’t be happier about her being on the block.

Carol says she’s trying not to be bothered by the nominations. Amber tells Danielle that she made a good veto speech. Amber cries and says she’s fighting for her family. Dick knows he can trust Amber more then anyone but Danielle.

:07 Dustin and Amber talk in the bathroom - and he says that he trusts and clicked with Amber right away, and Amber thinks she has more votes and feels confident.

:08 Carol and Jen on the Hammock, Carol thinks she has Joe, Daniele, Jen - who says Carol would be the smartest choice, but she needs to be aggressive. Carol feels like it’s not her time to go at all, and approaches Jessica and says they could go far together. She even apologizes.

In the Diary room though, Jessica says that she doesn’t trust her at all, and considers it problem solved.

:09 Carol tries to get Eric’s vote, then it’s back to Dustin and Amber who are inseperable, while Joe complains about it in the DR and wants it separated. Carol goes for Joe too, who says he’ll help her. He talks to Zack, who says if it’s close, they’ll talk. But in the DR, Zack says they need to make a decision that works best for the Mrs. Robinson Alliance.

:12 Kail complains that people don’t tell her anything.

Some fun and nonsense from the live feeds for ya - including a bit of why we love Evel Dick so much!

“Dick at Night”:

Joe is NO Jonny Fairplay (of Survivor) - but he offends, none the less.

Joe pretending to be a pregnant Amber, sending Jameka into hysterics, while Eric tries to “Avoid the upskirt”… He also apologizes for his failed Jonny Fairplay move at dinner.

Hidey Ho, hamster watchers!

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

HouseGuests4.jpg

Today is eviction day and the houseguests (hamsters) are restless. As I mentioned before, I don’t subscribe to the feeds, but there are loads of people who post snippets and updates around the net, so I’ve been keeping up. The worst part about the feeds I find is knowing ahead of time who wins what - even though we don’t see the actual competitions until the prime-time CBS slots. But it’s a small price to pay for watching the hamsters scurry about in abject boredom.

Everyone is feeling this two-week long start - they’re ready for it to start hopping and get on the regular schedule. (The houseguests are in the house 6 days before we get to the premiere night - have to have things to air, and all!) Kail is more then ready to get rid of HoH duties, and the rest of the house is more then ready to have someone else take over.

Many of the conversations about the house are of folks trying to figure out who would do what with the next nominations if they win Head of Household. The Mrs. Robinson alliance is worried, and rightly so, that if they don’t win, two of them will go up.

Speaking of Mrs. Robinson - way too many of these people have never heard of The Graduate or the song! Dick finally has to school them on the plot of the movie, and even risks getting yelled at to sing a bit of the song to Amber. Ooooooooh. Light dawns! Good lord. Also? Only about three of the houseguests know where the name “Big Brother” came from and how it applies to their situation. I’ve never read the book, but at LEAST I know where it comes from, and that it’s NOT because of the organization “Big Brothers, Big Sisters” and a willingness to help them.
