Happy Friday, Hamster Watchers!
Well, I too what has grown to be a rare Friday Morning opportunity, and took a relaxing nap this morning without having to worry that I was missing something on the feeds, that I’d missed the food competition, or last minute negotiations before nominations, etc. Big Brother as become such a huge part of my daily routine these past couple months, that it was certainly odd to relax and catch up on some badly needed zzzzzs.
All around the net, fans are falling solidly one on of two sides - No, not Dick vs. Daniele, but rather the “I’m not going to watch anymore this SUCKS - it’s RIGGED” side in its various forms, to the “WHOOOO! D&D TAKE IT ALL” side. Which side are you?
I made it no secret through the summer, that while I tried to remain objective, I REALLY wanted a Dick/Eric final two. When D/D turned on the JEDD/LJC alliance, it broke my heart a little. I adored Eric all season and have been a firm defender of his actions and did my best to get folks to slow down and think objectively about some of the things he did/said/was required to do as our America’s Player. But no one knows him better, or could have said it better then Eric’s brother, Josh. (You know, the CUTE… married one… Them Stein boys… rawr!)
As a small first year BB blog (But growing all the time - thanks to YOU guys!), I was unsurprised to see that he granted an interview by one of the bigger named blogs, soon after I attempted to contact him. No worries - I am only a little jealous! Carolyn at BB8Dish does FANTASTIC interviews, and Josh really went all out in answering and explaining Eric’s role in the BB House as AP. Click here to see the full interview, and read on for an taste of what you’ll find:
Carolyn: Often, when we watch reality shows, we being to feel like we know the people playing them… In talking with you, I have the rare opportunity to ask, who is Eric outside the house? What’s an act? What’s genuine?
Josh: I think the Eric you saw on the show was fairly accurate just with everything cranked up several notches. Eric is usually the “funny man, jokester, entertainer” and on many occasions has taken money from us to do extremely silly or outlandish stunts. Eric is also very bright and very analytical - sometimes to the point of driving himself nuts - though at the end of the day he is less pensive and more impulsive in real life than you saw in the house. Eric also has a very colorful over-the-top vocabulary - and I mean that in terms of large words, cursing, and insults. (And our entire group of friends prefers those types of out there insults and exclamations of anger as opposed to basic cursing - we’ve all said some pretty crazy stuff over the years and we look back and laugh about it.)
And, Eric often has a much more sensitive persona that only comes out when he has feelings for someone. Even Eric’s DR persona is something we’ve seen before, it’s his “putting on a show” face/voice that we often tease him about - it’s as if all those years of performing on stage come rushing back and possess him and his eyebrows. The only thing that you didn’t see in the house is that Eric is usually fairly athletic and good at physical competitions - that skill seemed to escape him in the house entirely. Oh, and though you couldn’t tell - he has a great singing voice.
Check out the whole thing - it’s a worthy read! Also, be sure to check out Eric’s new fan site board, too. Show some AP Love, ya’ll!

Lessa ~ Terrific use of the BB8Dish interview with Eric’s brother. I loved that interview! I’m in the throes of coming off my BB8 addiction, so I can’t imagine what it must be like for a dedicated blogger like yourself. If you need help, just know that your dedicated fans will be there for you and with you for Survivor. Tuesday night’s AP reveal, from Ms. Grodner’s House Calls interview, sounds like it will be bigger than one minute. Hooray!
