Hidey Ho, hamster watchers!

Today is eviction day and the houseguests (hamsters) are restless. As I mentioned before, I don’t subscribe to the feeds, but there are loads of people who post snippets and updates around the net, so I’ve been keeping up. The worst part about the feeds I find is knowing ahead of time who wins what - even though we don’t see the actual competitions until the prime-time CBS slots. But it’s a small price to pay for watching the hamsters scurry about in abject boredom.
Everyone is feeling this two-week long start - they’re ready for it to start hopping and get on the regular schedule. (The houseguests are in the house 6 days before we get to the premiere night - have to have things to air, and all!) Kail is more then ready to get rid of HoH duties, and the rest of the house is more then ready to have someone else take over.
Many of the conversations about the house are of folks trying to figure out who would do what with the next nominations if they win Head of Household. The Mrs. Robinson alliance is worried, and rightly so, that if they don’t win, two of them will go up.
Speaking of Mrs. Robinson - way too many of these people have never heard of The Graduate or the song! Dick finally has to school them on the plot of the movie, and even risks getting yelled at to sing a bit of the song to Amber. Ooooooooh. Light dawns! Good lord. Also? Only about three of the houseguests know where the name “Big Brother” came from and how it applies to their situation. I’ve never read the book, but at LEAST I know where it comes from, and that it’s NOT because of the organization “Big Brothers, Big Sisters” and a willingness to help them.
Back to the alliances and scheming and other stuff!
Mrs. Robinson alliance consists of Kail, Mike, Zack and Nick. What’s interesting is many don’t think Nick is in it, but think Jen is, because she spent the whole time in the HoH room with Kail, and Nick has made stalking Daniele his sole focus. Everyone knows that Kail and Mike are the leaders there, and the general consensus is that Mike needs to go first (between the two) because he is, as my favorite Evel Dick says “The head of the snake.”
Kail has not made any real effort to let the folks in the house get to know her - she avoids all personal questions, and that has been noticed and is starting to make folks quite uncomfortable. Even Eric has started to avoid her, because she asks a dozen questions about him, but when he points out she hasn’t answered one about herself and if she doesn’t he’s going to stop talking. She doesn’t - he stopped talking.
Speaking of Eric - many of the houseguests have decided he’s bipolar. He talks too much, he’s too excitable, then he’s way too quiet. Things aren’t looking good for America’s Player.
Dick and Daniele have been working together, while merely being ‘civil’ around everyone else. I love Dick! (Yes, I’m aware how wrong that sounds…) He is by far the favorite round here, because he’s entertaining and multi-faceted. Nothing is better then “Dick at Night” where he’s the only one up, and wandering around the house and yard, cleaning up, decorating the topiaries, and talking out loud to himself to entertain the live feed watchers - who are all appreciative. He’s got a good handle on the game, and he misses very little of what goes on around him.
Joe is by far the most stereotypical flaming gay man that I’ve ever seen. He’s way over the top, and a total little bitchy queen. He starts shit, stirs the pot, and finds himself far more amusing then everyone else does. Dustin, his ex, is a lot calmer, and perhaps has a much better handle on everything. Amber and Dustin are close with each other and Dick - that alliance appears to be Amber, Dustin, Dick and Daniele - with Nick riding the fence while he stalks Daniele, yet holds on to the Mrs. Robinson alliance. ALL information about Dick and the game that Mrs. Robinson and Mike have comes from Nick.
Zack is a wild card. He’s quiet, but when he does speak, its usually to spread lies and discontent. He caused quite a bit of drama between Nick and Daniele, though they seem to have worked through it. Daniele is really quiet, and if Nick doesn’t quit pushing her, it’s going to end badly, for sure.
General consensus seems to be that Carol is going home - with votes that are either 7-4, or 9-2, or 10-1. Either way, Carol should be evicted tonight. Most of today is spent getting ready for the live show tonight - rehearsals and the like, and many lockdowns and feed cutouts. There was a blowup between Dick and Jen earlier today where he repeatedly called her an “inconsiderate bitch” that thinks only of herself. He promises if she doesn’t stop, he’ll make her the most miserable bitch in the house. Go Dick! We’ll probably get snippits of that in tonight’s live show.
So - those are my observations! I’m glad that things are heating up, and will start moving at a faster rate. This first week was VERY long, and I’m more then ready for shows every couple of days, and more intense strategy sessions.
Remember - Live show tonight, where Carol or Amber will be Evicted, and a new Head of Household will be crowned. Who do you want to win HoH? Who do you hope gets put up on the block on Sunday? Who annoys you the most? Who’s your favorite? Do tell!
