It’s Power of Veto Time!

by Lessa

Previously on Big Brother…. we rejoin the House Guests right after a review of the nomination ceremony. Dick is very happy about the duplicate nominations, of course, as Dustin hugs Kail and says they’ll talk later. She says even though she said she could be used as a pawn, it’s nerve wracking. Dustin says that she threw herself at him as a pawn and it helps him remain safe which is what he wants.

Jen goes to the bathroom alone and cries, the first emotion we’ve seen from her. She’s wondering why and says that it hurts that it wasn’t Zach or Nick. Cut to the HOH room where Dustin assures Kail that he trusts her, and tells her that Zach is his target and to fight for POV. If none of them win it, Jen will go home, not Kail.

He then admits in DR that Kail should not believe him at all, because he doesn’t care which of them goes home - zach, nick, jen or kail.

Meanwhile, Nick is comforting Jen in the bathroom, and is joined by Zach and Kail. When they leave and it’s just Kail and Jen, Kail says they’re the toughest girls in the house. (HAHAHAHAHH!)

Amber runs back to Dustin and says that she found him comforting about Jen, and that it’s all an act, and they figure it’s fishy that Nick, Jen, Kail and Zach are all in an allience.

It’s time to pick players for the Veto competition!

Dustin chooses Daniele, Jen chooses Jameka, and Kail chooses Jessica. Eric is chosen as host. Jameka tells us that her Faith leads her to believe God is telling her to play hard and win for Jen and after the choosing she tells Kail, and then Jen that’s how she intends on playing it. She’ll play to win, and then use it for Jen, because that’s what God told her to do.

This, of course, makes Jen very happy, and Dick very upset. He brings up other scenarios - if it were Kail, or Zach, who she wants out more then anyone else. Jameka stands her ground though. In DR, she says he calls himself evil, he’s an atheist, and she doesn’t care. Dick says what many folks are thinking - “Don’t you think God has more important things to do then worry about your name on a ping pong ball?”

Eric comes out with a french accent (very very bad) all dressed in black with a beret and gets everyone dressed up and brings them into the Big Brother Art Gallery. There are art pictures and sculptures all over the living room. There’s wine and cheese for everyone - including those on slop!

Jameka is fighting for Jen, and Jessica wants to play so the nominations stay the same. Vincent Van Veto is the artist - the game is about big brother Slogans - they earn bucks, and whoever solves the puzzle gets bucks, most bucks at the end, wins. Get it wrong and you’re out.

Daniele gets the first - Head of household.
Daniele gets the second one as well - Memory Wall
Kail gets Diary room.
Daniele is out with Veto - the correct answer was Power of Veto and she’s elimated.

Now they have the opportunity to spend some bucks on prizes, and it’s a trip for 2 to Barbados, and Dustin takes it - sending the peanut gallery into stunned angry expressions. Dustin is excited that they’re gonna have the BEST TIME in Barbados. While Jessica and Dick are pissed off.

Kail says the next is “Need to know basis” - the picture was a Gnome on a knee - NOMINEE. Oy.

Number 6 - Jameka gets it with alliance, and she’s in the lead with 3 puzzles remaining.
Number 7 - Dustin gets it with Julie Chen. (The puzzle caused many people to say “Julie Chicken!” for the rest of the night, btw!)
Number 8 - Dustin gets it with chopping block and puts himself in the lead.

Time for another prize! 5000 cash! Jameka says she was tempted, but doesn’t do it, but DUSTIN DOES! That sends Amber into - you guessed it, TEARS. That leaves Jameka in the lead and whoever answers the question correctly will win the Power of Veto.

Jen says… Safety. What?! It didn’t even make sense, and was a deliberate ditch and dump so that the other houseguests have no chance as it leaves Jameka in the lead and winner of the Power of Veto. Jen is happy - the rest of the house is FURIOUS. Even Jameka said she did it on purpose, and regrets telling her that she would use the PoV on her.

We come back and Dick confronts Dustin on the taking of both prizes, and that he wouldn’t have done it. Dustin admits that it’s selfish and he got caught up in the moment and he felt terrible. He knows everyone hates him right now. Amber is off in the corner crying and talking to Jameka. Jameka says she will take Jen off, because she’s a woman of her word. I admire her determination, and her belief that “God is gangsta!” Amber doesn’t like seeing Jameka taken advantage of.

Daniele is pissed too, talking to Nick and Dick, while Dustin pleads his case to Eric. Eric tells us that Dustin made a fool of himself and lost the respect of all his allies. And Dick starts in on Jen, and accuses her of being selfish, doing it on purpose to dump the whole thing on Jameka. Kail of course takes Jen’s side. Jen says she’s sad Jameka didn’t take the money, and Dani asks Dick to stop.

Dick apologizes, but says it only makes everyone uncomfortable because he’s saying what everyone is thinking - Kail says she doesn’t, but he comes back and says her feelings are irrelevant because Jen is her bed buddy.

(Wow - this is a REALLY LONG commercial break…)

And it’s time for Eric to find out his next assignment! He gets the catch phrase is “I’d do that for a dollar” - he needs a minimum of 3 different people to say the phrase on 5 different days. He gets right to work, and says it several times in a row, and then explains to Dick that he hates Amber’s phrases and expressions, and so he decided to concoct an expression that he’ll say repeatedly until other people say it to illustrate what it is like to the rest of the house. Dick thanks it’s funny and is all for it.

He puts his money where his mouth is and ends up jumping into the pool with all his clothes on. (THANK you for not streaking!)

We have a meeting of the LNC - the Late Night Crew. They know Jameka is using the veto, so they discuss who to put up to replace Jen. Everyone agrees that it is a strategic move to remove Nick from the game. Eric admits he wants Nick out, and they need to send him home while they have the chance. Daniele leaves, and Amber says that its hard, and Jessica is beautifully awesome and says “Not to be a bitch, but it’s not our job to take care of Daniele’s personal life.” Daniele thinks that Amber was calling her out and attacking her. Jameka says that her opinion is that she wants Zach gone.

It’s time for the Power of Veto meeting. Jameka says that no matter what she does, someone is going to be hurt. Zach says Jameka is opening a can of worms, but doesn’t see Dustin putting him on the block. Nick thinks it will be Zach. Kail says Dustin needs to follow through with his word and put up Zach so that she’ll still be there.

Jameka calls everyone in, and gives Kail and Jen a chance to convince her to use it on them. Jen says she thinks everything happens for a reason, and enjoys being there, and that’s it. Kail says that she’s in a hard position because their friends and she won’t ask Jameka to choose her over her friend.

Jameka says she’s learned some things about individuals character, and that actions speak louder then words, but she wants her actions to follow her words, and uses the Power of Veto to save Jen.

Dustin stands to replace his nomination, and says “There are people in the house who since day one have been playing all sides and in doing so they have done themselves in strategically, and with that said, Nick, I nominate you for eviction.”

Jameka closes the veto meeting, and we see Daniele crying in the Diary room, because she doesn’t have a lot of people in the house and it’s hard. Dustin says don’t get to attached, and gives the best, quote ever - “Clip it, bitches, it’s a game!”

And Nick says he’s not giving up like Kail is doing. Kail says she doesn’t know what Dustin’s doing, and it could be a huge problem and she never feels safe. Jen is more upset with Dustin for putting up Nick then for putting her up in the first place.

Who will get evicted on Thursday? And don’t forget to Vote on who Eric votes for at cbs.com!
