Live Eviction Night, Live blog!

by Lessa

Of course, half the world has already seen tonight’s episode, but I live in Alaska and am a couple hours behind as a result. No matter - I’m gonna ‘live blog’ it anyway! You know you’re excited. You can admit it!

7:02 Recap time - they go through all of the previous weeks happenings, except of course for what we’ve all seen on the live feeds and Showtime BB After Dark.

04: Hi Julie! She looks fantastic and so very thin in her black pantsuit. She tells us that Joe and Dustin are trying to be civil, Dick is trying to talk to Dani but she’s not ready, and while Jessica is nice to Carol to her face, she can’t be happier about her being on the block.

Carol says she’s trying not to be bothered by the nominations. Amber tells Danielle that she made a good veto speech. Amber cries and says she’s fighting for her family. Dick knows he can trust Amber more then anyone but Danielle.

:07 Dustin and Amber talk in the bathroom - and he says that he trusts and clicked with Amber right away, and Amber thinks she has more votes and feels confident.

:08 Carol and Jen on the Hammock, Carol thinks she has Joe, Daniele, Jen - who says Carol would be the smartest choice, but she needs to be aggressive. Carol feels like it’s not her time to go at all, and approaches Jessica and says they could go far together. She even apologizes.

In the Diary room though, Jessica says that she doesn’t trust her at all, and considers it problem solved.

:09 Carol tries to get Eric’s vote, then it’s back to Dustin and Amber who are inseperable, while Joe complains about it in the DR and wants it separated. Carol goes for Joe too, who says he’ll help her. He talks to Zack, who says if it’s close, they’ll talk. But in the DR, Zack says they need to make a decision that works best for the Mrs. Robinson Alliance.

:12 Kail complains that people don’t tell her anything.

:13 Check with the houseguests - the audio is off, and there’s giggling until they can finally hear her. First two nominees sitting before them, it’s never as easy as it looks. She asks Jen what it was like making the decision, and Jen acts stupid, and says she’s not prepared to answer anything. UGH. Eric says the decision is very hard, and neither deserve to be up there, so it’s hard. She asks Jessica aobut them getting along and how she feels about the eviction, and she says if Carol goes, it was everyone’s decision and simply her time. Carol says she feels about Jessica like she’s just another houseguest.

Dick - had time to spend with his daughter, hows it been. He says its interesting, and at least their talking, baby steps. Daniele is quiet until she’s asked, and says its AWWWKWARD and that it’s an odd situation, but everyone’s been nice and caring about it and making it easier.

Julie turns to Joe, and says there’s tension between him and dustin, and asks joe what he can say nice about dustin, and he says he has a nice smile, Dustin retailites with “joe has a winning personality”

Julie promises after we come back, Dicks mother and son will tell all.

Houseguests voting:
Dustin - want to keep amber, she’s the closest he has
Joe - carol isn’t aligned with dustin
Jen - carol has no alliance
Nick - wants to keep Amber, but then says she’s close to Dustin and that might be bad
Jameka - Amber should go because she’s strong
Joe - wants carol out because she’s inconsistant

:18 commercial. Whew. I type fast, but DAMN. *L*

:21 Welcome back. We get to the bottom of the Family feud they talk to Grandma and Bro/Son to see what kind of father is the man who calls himself Evil Dick. Vince says they haven’t talked because she borrowed money and didn’t pay it back, and he handled it badly. Daniele says she doesn’t know how to change it. Charlotte (Dick’s mom) says he was a young father and was simply not ready for it, and unprepared. She thinks Richard is trying to get close to Daniele though, and has always wanted it. In the DR - Dick worries that this might destroy the relationship, rather then help and that’s what worries him. Catch-22. But at least they’re talking now. He’s there to win the money, and the love of his daughter. He has the hardest game in the house. Vince wants it to work, because they have a small family, and they’re all they have.

:24 Time to talk to Kail in the HOH room, where they can speak privately. Julie asks her about the alliance with the young men. She says it wasn’t her plan, but Zack approached her first, and she felt too big an age difference with the girls. Julie asks if she was surprised by Eric’s sharing his story with her, and Kail says she was surprised at first, but glad he confided in him.

Still ahead - find out how Eric’s family reacted to him being AP

:26
Zack - wants to keep carol because she warmed up to him.
Daniele - Amber is nice - but it’s risky because she’s here to play the game
Dick - says Carol is looking for a place to keep her tiara
Mike - wants Carol’s loyalty and says she’s stronger then Amber (ed: um - WHAT?)
Jessica - doesn’t want to keep Carol at all, but its fun watching her try and save herself - because she’s not going too.

:27 Commercial. Whew!

:30 Welcome back! JC says only Eric knew he was coming into the house as america’s player, and we see his family and friends in a living room. Josh says he’s watched every season of big brother and wants it. His parents say he knows everything about it and has plotted it out, and they all think he’ll win over everyone. His brother thinks that if he’s AP - it’ll rattle his plan. The family boos when they find out that he is indeed America’s Player. Matt’s (friend) is concerned that he won’t get to do anything he wants to do, but is sure he’ll roll with it well. They toast to Eric, and hope he wins it all!

:33 We find out who America voted for Eric to vote out. He says there’s many sharp players in the house, and then theirs Carol. He’s happy when he opens the envelope, and we have our first official vote: America, we vote to evict Carol.

:34 Commercial

:37 Welcome back to big brother 8 - it’s time to find out live who’s walking out of the house tonight! Julie Chen gives each of them one last chance to talk to the housemates. Amber says she had a good time and regardless how votes go, she washes them luck, and gets teary. Carol says it’s an experience that she’ll never forget and wishes them all the best of luck. And did we mention everyone looks all spiffy and dressed up? Nice.

bb8carol.jpgJC tells them when it’s announced they have one minute, blah blah and - by a vote of 10-1, Carol, you have been evicted. Carol says “I saw that one coming” and the hugging commences as she moves toward the door. They all applaud as Carol goes out to meet Julie Chen - saying she hopes she grabbed the right bag, and AWKWARD!

:40 The houseguests are mingling and talking as Amber gets her share of the hugs, and many choruses of awkwaaaaaaard warble out.

:41 Carol says that its so weird, and Julie brings up what Carol had said earlier that Jessica is not the same person as before. Carol says she just said that, and that she’s still the same person but didn’t want to go there. She says she doesn’t even remember the fight, and that they were too stubborn. She says “Jessica remembers, let’s watch.” And shows clips of all the smack Jessica was talking. Carol’s face was hysterical, and when Julie says “Now what do you want to say?” and she doesn’t feel bad at all about saying she’s not paying back the five bucks, and Jessica is still conceited.

Goodbye Videos
Joe says he’ll miss her
Zack says she has a big heart and that was her downfall
Kail says she wants to keep in contact with her and there’s bright things in her future.
Amber thinks a lot of her as a person and wishes her the best.
Jessica says that it is weird that they never made up and wishes her luck and says she’s talented and maybe they’ll see each other at the high school reunion.

Carol says her thoughts were she tried hard, and that Jessica will never change. More with Carol on the Morning show tomorrow where they’ll reveal who the vote was to keep her safe.

Coming up - HoH competition! Looks like standard question/answer.

:44 Commercial

:48 Welcome back - Time for the HoH competition. The power is up for grabs!

Tonights competition is Majority rules. Questions about the housemates, don’t give personal opinion answer, but instead how the majority of the group responds. With the Majority, advance, minority eliminated. Tie, no one goes, move on to another question.

In the butter me up food comp - who would they rather rub the butter off off - Daniele, Jen. Majority says Daniele - Zack eliminated.

Who does the majority of the house say they’d not let their sister date - Nick or Mike
Answer: Nick - Dick, Daniele, Nick are eliminated

Who would cheat on a significant other - Joe or Dustin
Majority says Joe - No one gets eliminated.

Who would hold a grudge the longest - Dick or Daniele
Majority says Daniele, Jameka is eliminated.

Who would be the best person to cheer them up - Erik or Jessica
Majority says Erik, and Amber is eliminated.

Who is most likely to turn 500K into five million - Kail or Zack
Majority says Zack, Jessica and Mike are eliminated.

Who would help an old lady cross the street Jameka or Amber
Split down the middle.

Tie breaker question: The answer is a number, person who is closest wins. How many gallons of water does the spinning teacup in backyard hold?

Erik: 220
Jen: 41
Dustin: 200
Joe: 136

It’s a trick question - because of the opening, the teacup holds 9 gallons of water and JEN WINS HOH. Oh my gawd. This will be an interesting week.

JC: What’s ahead now that Jen is HOH? Stay with us.

:55 Commercial - almost there folks!

:58 Welcome back - it’s time for us to get involved. Jen is HOH, but that doesn’t mean AP can’t sway the nominations. Tell Eric who to target, and see if he can sway Jen to vote our way! There’s only a bit left to vote, so hurry over to cbs.com and vote for free!

:59 Who will Jen nominate? Find out Sunday. Veto on Tuesday, and on Thursday, another live eviction. For now, let’s eaves drop on the houseguests, as we say goodbye.

The houseguests are all milling around in the back yard talking while Dick smokes on the couch.

:00 And there we go - Show’s over folks!

The big question is, of course, what the heck is gonna happen with Jen as the Head of Household? It’s bound to be an interesting week for sure!
