Sunday Night Recap!
Thanks to ATI for the Stream!
Previously, on Big Brother 8…!
We rejoin the houseguests with a quick review of the evictions last week. Dick tells us that they have a final four deal with Eric and Jessica, and a final three with Zach, and everything is going on right now… so…
We see Jessica get Evicted again. Daniele says she tried not to look at her, because she felt really bad, but it wasn’t in the Donato’s best interest. Jameka says she’s grateful, but it was a double edged sword. Eric reminds us that he has a bond with Jessica that goes beyond the game. Jessica tells Eric and Jameka to get their heads in the game as she leaves in tears.
Dick says the entire state of Kansas hates the Donatos right now. They lie to Eric about it being a last minute decision again. Dani tells us that she has zero sympathy, it was all strategic. Jameka admits that she made a deal with ED before the show, and we see her accepting the deal right before the live show. She says it was nerve wracking to make the deal but she decided it was time for Jameka to play for herself.
Dick tells us they had to win the HOH competition, and we flash back to Dick’s win. He says he didn’t know the answer, he took the best guess that he could - cue Rocker music and Donato celebration! He tells us it was Awesome, they’re in the final four. We see the celebration in the round room, where Daniele and Dick are jumping up and down, and Zach joins in and tells us he hopes they stick to their word.
Back to Dick nominating Jameka and Eric. Zach is happy that they stuck to their word. To the Veto competition. Daniele tells us the Veto was important Eric, he had to win, and we see the tumble down collision with Dick/Daniele/Eric, and Zach’s win. He says with this he has power, great power. And Daniele hugs Jameka and tells her its ok, and she tells us she doesn’t put stock in their word, but had to trust them. Zach knew he could get a Donato out of the game, but decided not too because he had to do it one more time, in hopes he could win one more HOH and upset the game.
Eric’s eviction next, and we finally end the Recap era. Dick says he felt bad, but the final four was who he and Daniele had chosen. Daniele says Eric was the biggest liars of the game, and sucks for you! Jameka says without Eric it finalized that she was on her own, and she was just gonna let God do his thing. Congrats all around for final four as Dick is clearly beside himself and couldn’t be any happier. With the agreements they have with Zach and Jameka, they’re guaranteed final three. Zach tells us that D/D run off and talk without him and how he thought he was part of the group, guess not.
More Donato celebration, and they talk about what to do with Zach, and they may have to betray him too, as Daniele giggles about it. Zach peeks in with a “you better not send me packing!” Daniele equates Zach to the person who you ignore their calls, and just listen to voice mail, and that they’ve been carrying him along all this time. Zach tells the Donatos that he’s glad they trust him again.
We come back to see there’s new pictures on the Memory wall. The 14 new pictures would be part of the HOH competition thought they didn’t know how. Daniele says she was distracted by the laughter and remembering the days. It’s time for the HOH competition!
They go outside, Dick leading the way, and Daniele tells us that she wants it so bad. Week 2, she never thought she’d care if her dad left or not, but now she’s working harder. Picture this is the game. Asked a series of questions according to the memory wall pictures. Answer correctly, take a step toward the top. Wrong, stay where they are. First person to answer 7 questions correctly and stand at the top is the new HOH. Jameka says it’s essential to win.
In the picture of For those about to Slop, how many black guitars are standing upright in their stand. 1, Zach takes a step up.
How many HG are not wearing bunny suits in Let’s Make a Duel? 5 - All advance.
In the picture of Name that pie, what was the blue teams score? 6 - All advance.
IN the picture of Shot for Shot - what color is Dustin’s shirt? Blue - Daniele/Zach advance
In the picture of cut-throat Christmas, how many houseguests were wearing sunglasses? 4 - Daniele moves up, and it’s a tie between her and Zach at 4, Jameka has 2.
Who is wearing a bow tie in The Mad Hatter? Mike - All advance.
Humpty Scramble, how many swirl mats can be seen reflected in the window? 2 - all advance. Jameka has 4, Daniele/Zach with 6.
Are there any rats in the cage in the picture of cat scratch veto? No - Daniele and Zach are at the top with 7 correct and it’s a tie-breaker!
A number answer - closest without going over wins HOH. What was the total number of houseguests in the 13 competition pictures on the memory wall? Zach has his answer quickly, Daniele looks unsure. Zach says 59. Daniele says 58. The correct answer is 69 - Zach is the new HOH! And he almost falls off the platform.
Dick says Daniele lost it, upset, and reminds himself it doesn’t matter. And Zach tells us that he has HOH, Power and its time to wield it!
Cut to Daniele and Dick talking in the her room, Dick saying it couldn’t have been closer, and how she whines. And whines. While Dick tries to comfort her, that they’ll make final three, it’s ok. Three against one and Jameka is terrible. Dick tells us that they’re competing for POV against Jameka, and it’s the only thing that could mess it up. Daniele knows that she’ll be gone if it comes down to it. Dick tells her they can do it and gives a good pep talk. And Daniele “This sucks, this sucks, this sucks, this sucks.” (ed - Someone get this girl some cheese to go with that whine, will ya?!)
We come back to see Zach’s HOH room. Everyone celebrates final four again, and goes to see his pictures. Daniele confesses they didn’t want to go up again, it was a bunch of bitter grapes, and they told him to read his letter and slipped out. Zach reads his leeter from his Dad, and gets teary eyed and emotional. He says it gives him the strength to push forward. He knows he has to win it, and celebrates with a little bit of dancing on his own.
Back to more celebration outside, and Dick tells Zach why Daniele is upset, and that they’ve been killing the competitions while Jameka hasn’t won anything, but that against her they wouldn’t win. They have to get her out. Dick says they need Zach to get Jameka on the block. Zach tells us here’s the line in the sand. If she doesn’t put one up and get them out there’s two Donato’s in the final 3 he’ll have to deal with.
Cut to Zach talking to Jameka in the back yard. He makes a deal with Jameka to try and get Daniele out. He wants to put both Dick and Daniele up, and Jameka and Zach play their ass off for the POV, and he wants to pull her to the final three.
We come back to Daniele talking to Zach in the HOH room. She has a question, and asks him point blank if he’s going to put Dick and Daniele up. He tells her he doesn’t know, he’s trying to figure out how to get to the final two. Daniele says anyone against Dick won’t win either, because he’s played the best game hands down. Zach says he was playing dead, and finally started to play and it wasn’t by chance. Daniele tells him that he’s wrong, he wasn’t under the radar, there were just others who defended him and threw other people out. He says it was luck, she says it wasn’t luck it was people sticking up for him and that people had his back. He asks who - she says ‘My DAD!” He says it’s hard to believe, he spent a month playing chess by himself and eating alone, and he doesn’t know he’s trying to figure out what will put him in the best spot in the end.
Daniele tells us Zach thinks he’ll win, and what? What game is he playing - it’s not the same one she’s playing! She leaves and Zach mutters “Nobody can beat my dad. Your dad’s an idiot!”
Daniele tells Dick right away that they’re both going up, and he says Oh well, we’ll win POV. Daniele calls him smug and how it makes her mad that just yesterday he was begging them not to roll over on them. Dick says Zach is stupid, and then he pulls him aside to talk to him.
He says they had a deal to go to the final three, and they would have held up their end and he hopes Zach won’t break that deal (Cue Rocker Music!) Dick says Daniele has had his back. Zach says in the final four they have to do what’s right for himself. Dick says he won’t have this conversation because he’s getting pissed. Zach points out to us it’s anybody’s game. If they want to stay they’re going to have to win the POV and fight for it.
We come back to Zach staring at the nomination box. He tells us he’s nominating two people he feels threatened by, and he’s wanting to go up again people he can beat. Dick says everything is on the line, and Zach made a promise, he should keep.
Zach brings the box out to the smaller table, for the final nomination ceremony. Zach says they’re there to compete for half a million dollars, some were there for friendships, he was there to play and step up his game in the end. He’s grateful for where he is, he felt like he did it on his own. He hates being in this situation, he’s got to pick between two who he hopes are friends, and one who’s restored his faith in God.
He’ll pull the key. Jameka is safe. Dick tells him wouldn’t have it any other way - tried to get him out, before, didn’t work for the other HOHs, but they expected it. He says he doesn’t like the tactics Dick used, but it’s effective. Daniele is amazing at competitions, and he can’t win against the Donatos because they dominated and it’s unfair. D/D laugh at them. No one had the stones to muscle them out, but he has the stones and the muscle to try. He says neither was going to take them to the final two anyway. Either way, the meeting is adjourned.
Jameka says she’s excited, and Zach is the person she expected least to look out for her. Zach says he put it all on the line and he has to win the POV, it’s the only shot to make sure one of them going home. Daniele says he’s cocky and makes her want to win to shove it in his face. It’s going to be brutal. Dick says it might be the final three - but it’s really not. Win the final power of veto, win the game. Zach is not going to win this game!
Who will win the Final Power Of Veto? Find out Tuesday!
What did you think of Zach’s last speech? Poor guy has never learned when to stop, huh? Can’t wait to see how it all plays out, that’s for sure!
